Having worked in the warehousing, manufacturing and transport industries for over 17 years, Daniel Mierendorff comes well prepared for his new venture as National Business Development Manager (BDM) with Gough Transport Solutions (GTS).
Under the Gough Group banner in Australia there is Gough Transport Solutions, Gough Industrial Solutions and Gough Palfinger, all three providing quality products to the transport, logistics and concrete industries throughout Australia.
GTS is a prominent supplier of quality truck and trailer equipment including hydraulics, braking systems, tail lifts, concrete pumps, plants, agitators and equipment.
The company has a nationwide network of modern, well equipped workshops and field service divisions to capably manage the installation and servicing of the products it sells.
Mierendorff started his working career in stores before progressing through a number of managerial positions with a range of businesses. He has been involved in parts, procurement, operations, sales and supply chain, through to General Manager and now his current role as National BDM with GTS.
Speaking about his appointment, Mierendorff said it was his contact with GTS in previous roles that cemented his desire to work for the company.
“I have dealt with GTS as a customer for many years with three different companies,” he said. “During that time I always engaged with the same people and received the same high quality service.”
“This spoke volumes to me as it is rare to see long-term quality employees, so I thought ‘they must be doing something right at Gough.’”
“The Gough Group is large, diversified and poised for growth through market share acquisition and for motivated employees it offers a rewarding career path,” said Mierendorff. “I’ve long considered Gough to be an employer of choice and am extremely happy this employment opportunity arose.”
Elaborating on the skills and talents he’s developed in his career path that will enable him to excel in his new role, Mierendorff said it’s a matter of being across all areas of the business.
“The reality is you have to be jack of all trades and master of some in any BDM role. Understanding your customers and the business you work for is extremely important for you to successfully grow business opportunities, increase revenue and facilitate change in the business-to-business (B2B) space.”
“Gough has recently completed a five-year growth strategy and it’s exciting times with high ambitions which, most importantly, are achievable,” said Mierendorff. “With new products coming on line in the Transport and Industrial businesses, along with existing products such as German manufactured Palfinger tail lifts, Italian made Binotto tipping systems, OMFB hydraulic pumps, power take-offs (PTOs) and valves, as well as Wabco braking systems, Gough is primed and ready to grow.”
